In addition to carrying a rifle with a flashlight, I spent a lot of time at the range. With any new tool, I try to spend a lot of time familiarizing myself with the tool and testing its reliability. Since I was shooting myself, this was the perfect opportunity to test the reliability of the TLR-4.
The unit is firmly attached to the gun grips and stays in place after being fired again. Extensive testing has not revealed any stability or reliability issues with this unit.
Since then, I've tested the TLR-4 in many other pistols including, but not limited to, the H&K VP9, Smith & Wesson SD40, Walther Creed, Glock 19, Springfield Armory XD Subcompact, and CZ P-07.
I found the light to perform well, illuminating targets out to 15 yards. In the far room, the TLR-4 was sufficient to illuminate targets and disrupt the subject at the wrong end of the gun.

The TLR-4 is water and shock resistant and designed to operate in temperatures from -10 degrees to +120 degrees. Although I haven't put it in the oven, it certainly seems to work well in hot, humid Florida. the environment. .
At first, the laser needed some adjustment to see what I wanted. Adjustments were easy to make using a sharp and high riser. Once dialed in, the laser did not move or require readjustment after firing. It was as easy as you'd expect.
The small piece of oomph that comes with new lights is not rated at 600 or more lumens. It's a bit more complicated than some modern options.
However, the unit is a strong performer. It's durable, widely used in firearms around the world, and backed by one of the biggest names in flashlights.

Like other Streamlight lighting equipment, the TLR-4 comes with a limited lifespan. I've had very few Streamlight products that have had problems - but when they do, the company always comes through.
